Nice to meet you!
What’s my story?
I could write a whole book about my journey into the field of User Experience Design (UX) and Research, but I’ll keep it brief. I’m a bright, funny, simple girl from P.G. County, Maryland. I love to travel, try new foods, and find ways to stay active.
Instinctively drawn to technology as a child, my family members looked to me to solve problems that I thought were super simple such as matching the colored wires on the TV, navigating the latest phone settings, and switching inputs on the remote. Growing up, it seemed that engineering and coding were the only options offered for tech and I hadn’t been successful in either area. During the pandemic, I graduated with honors, with a teaching degree, and took some time to breathe and figure out “what’s next?”
After much research, I realized that I had been aware of UX this entire time, I just didn’t know its official name. I’d already been pointing out ineffective information architecture (IA) and user interface designs (UI). Wow, I did have other options. Throughout my time as a research and design apprentice, I learned that this is the right place for me — a field that challenges me - not only technically, but creatively.
I’m fascinated by how this field fuses so many disciplines together in order to wholly analyze and create products based on how humans experience them. I love seeing the iterative process of designing with data come to life.
